For most of his life Jamie Griffiths' second home has been at Edgar Street. But last year when Tommy Agombar and Andrew Lonsdale were 'in control' he left the club he loves because promises to pay him were continually broken.
Griffiths took a media job with Newport County but when the call came a few weeks ago to ask if he would join Hereford FC there was no doubt in his mind.
"It's really good to be back, home from home isn't it, feel comfortable, just get on with it,"Griffiths told BN.
"I'm doing the website, YouTube, the programme, the office.
"At the minute it's tickets, tickets, and a few more tickets.
"When that all calms down it will be setting up the office and then on a matchday managing anything that arises, just being there and then legging it up and sitting with Keith.
"I'll be meeting and greeting along with Chris.
"We are trying to be a friendly club and a welcoming club so there will be big smiles and hand-shakes."
BN asked Griffiths about his time at Newport.
"There were things I learnt and probably some things I can bring here.
"A great club, Lewis Richards the secretary there works day and night for that club.
"I enjoyed it down at Newport but when the phone call came to come back here, it was a quick decision.
"We always joked I might be back in five years time or something. Five months was a bit quicker than anyone imagined."
BN: The stadium looks cleaner, fresher than it has been for years?
"At the end of Graham's time or the beginning of David's time they did do a bit of a paint job but this time they've stripped everything back.
"If you are going to do it, do it properly and I think that is evident all around the place.
"I think supporters whether they were here last season or the season before they will notice a massive difference. The Meadow End, the cladding from Met-Clad, and the volunteers who have painted it today. Just little touches like that brighten the whole place up."
BN: Next Saturday could be the biggest gate for a friendly for a long time.
"Ron Parrott, the club historian, e-mailed some friendly attendances.I think Manchester United in the 90's was 4500. We're probably not going to get to that but we are 2787 today without any FCUM sales. It's going to be well over 3,000.
"So the advice for Saturday is to get here early, get the tickets from the ticket office and then go and sit in Addisons, have a couple of pints and enjoy the day."
