Big Crowd Expected At Malvern On Tuesday

Malvern Town Last August
A big crowd is expected to watch next Tuesday evening's friendly at Malvern where Hereford FC are the visitors.

Chris Pinder, Malvern's managing director, is reported to have suggested it could be the club's biggest gate for at least ten years.

"I was expecting about 1,000 but the police tell us it could even be up to 2,000," Pinder told the Malvern Gazette.

"We're having to take steps to potentially accommodate those people in terms of stewarding and ordering more refreshments.

"It will be a great occasion for both clubs and gives us a good financial start to the season. Hereford fans are desperate to see their new team play and they have beaten some Football League clubs in season-ticket sales. It should be an enthusiastic atmosphere.

"There have been changes at our ground. We've fenced the pitch off to make it more contained, refurbished the floodlights and reseeded the pitch. We will be improving the clubhouse as the season goes on.

"We're just happy Hereford have chosen to play us first. Their chairman (Jon Hale) used to be my Sunday league manager at Anchor Falcons."
