BBC Hereford and Worcester has reported that a site has been chosen for a new
emergency station to be shared between Hereford and Worcester Fire and
Rescue Service and West Mercia Police.
The organisations have announced they plan to build an "innovative facility" on Edgar Street in Hereford city centre, near the football ground.
Assistant chief fire officer John Hodges said: "We have found working in close collaboration with our colleagues at the police on this exciting project to be very fruitful."
He said they were currently at the stage of carrying out feasibility studies into the Edgar Street site.
