Below is a copy of a letter sent to Hereford FC volunteers from chairman Jon Hale yesterday.
HEREFORD FC
Edgar Street, Hereford, HR4 9JU
April 2015
Dear Hereford FC volunteer,
I am delighted that we have now secured the lease for Edgar Street, and together we can build Hereford FC in to a club to be proud of every day, not just on match days.
The club office is open, season tickets are selling well and friendlies are being arranged. The club really does feel vibrant, helped enormously by the amount of support it has attracted.
You will be well aware that our ground needs significant work before we can take full occupancy and allow people in. The club has committed to sorting out the electrical problems, and this work will be carried out by a qualified contractor. However, there many other tasks to carry out around the ground, inside and out, that require the generous help of volunteers.
I want to personally thank you for putting yourself forward to help the club on a volunteer basis. This is the greatest show of support and commitment we could possibly hope for because not only are you helping the club get back on its feet from a cosmetic point of view, but you are also helping keep the cost of that improvement to an absolute minimum. There are many roles to fill both in the short term ‘clear up’ and the longer term on match days and the like.
Ken Kinnersley will be co-ordinating the volunteer network, and his professional approach has been very welcome. He is currently preparing all of the necessary handbooks and agreements to ensure any volunteer is properly protected and that the club holds the correct documentation to allow us to work with volunteers.
These are very exciting times for Hereford FC, and you will be playing a key part in its conception. From the bottom of my heart I thank you. We can build this club together, and put in place the solid platform we must insist upon so Hereford FC can be enjoyed by generations to come.
We will all make it happen.
All the best
Jon Hale
Chairman
