Former Hereford United striker Steve Guinan is running his first marathon in two weeks time.
He's taking part in the Virgin Money London Marathon with the aim of raising money for Children with Cancer.
"Although playing football for years gives you a decent level of fitness, I can't remember the last time I ever ran," Guinan told the League Paper.
"Sometimes the training has been a grind but I just want it to be here now and complete the race - well race is the wrong word."
Including gift aid Guinan has already raised £6205 much of which came from the recent friendly game at Westfields where a Guinan XI played a HUST XI.
