Hereford United face a 4pm deadline for Alan McCarthy and the club to comply with the Owners and Directors Test regulations.
It is understood that McCarthy filed his ODT documents shortly after being charged with failure to submit to the test. The £500 fine applied by the FA is in line with the penalties laid out, effectively £125 a month for the four months McCarthy failed to comply.
Little is known of McCarthy's history, and he still is yet to make any public statement, so it is unclear whether he would pass the test or not.
The FA's statement on Monday demanded that both McCarthy and the club comply with regulations, with many speculating that it may mean that the club is transferred to a new owner today.
However the call from the FA for the club to comply may be in relation to Tommy Agombar's continued involvement. Since failing his own ODT test, Agombar has admitted to fans on camera that he has put money in after his failure as well as being seen in the technical area during games in addition to berating players after games.
In any case it is unlikely, with the FA's ability to move at speed, that an outcome will be announced this afternoon.
