A Game Of Missed Chances

Warming Up In The Sun
This afternoon's Southern League encounter between Dunstable and Hereford, which ended 1-1, was a game of missed chances by both sides.

Supporters Waiting For The Game To Commence
As reported earlier the start of the game was delayed by 40 minutes as two of the original officials had been told the game was off. However it appears that news hadn't been relayed to the one official who did turn up.

Eventually two other officials were found. One of them was only contacted at 2.40pm, luckily he lived close by.

A Return From Injury For Javier Roberts
Hereford manager Jon Taylor was able to bring winger Javier Roberts back into the starting eleven after injury, but was without experienced defender Delroy Gordon who, reportedly, only told Taylor yesterday he had moved to Leamington.

By time the game started the winter sun was setting and it was beginning to get cold.

Hereford started off the brighter of the two teams and should have gone ahead after just six minutes when Gary O'Neill's shot was only just kept out by the Dunstable keeper.

On twenty minutes, Hereford took the lead through Dan Sullivan from about 15 yards.

From then on both sides created chances but were guilty of poor finishing.

However on 78 minutes Dunstable drew level when Luke Williams couldn't hold onto a shot from Tony Burnett.

Overall a draw was probably a fair result.

Attendance: 167 with about 25 away supporters. There was no sign of Hereford chairman Andy Lonsdale or Tommy Agombar.

UPDATE: Lonsdale, reportedly, watched his former club Bedfont & Feltham F.C win at Sandhurst Town F.C in The Combined Counties League Division One this afternoon.

After this afternoon's results, Hereford remain in 14th position with 30 points from 25 games.
