Bilal Yafai and Javia Roberts scored the goals with Jon Taylor reintroducing defender Delroy Gordon to the side, after he was reported to have joined the club on a permanent move from Nuneaton, as one of four changes to the line up.

Cambridge could only name three players on the bench, and gave a debut to teenage loanee keeper Harry Reynolds with their first choice keeper injured.

And they didn't bring a fully qualified physio with them as when one of their players had a blood from a wound Malcolm Cowell, Hereford's physio, treated him.

The attendance was reported as 295, with 27 from Cambridge.

Hereford remain in 16th position with 16 points from 15 games.
