FA Changed ODT Rules Over Results Timescale

The FA have admitted that they changed the rules on the Owners and Directors Test on August 1st.

Previously they were committed to giving results within 14 days of receiving an application under the test. Now, however, the FA only expect to meet the 14 day deadline under their "best endeavours".

They admitted the change in the rules to a fan who had queried the test using a copy of the previous rules that stated:

'Within 14 days of receiving a Declaration The FA is required to
provide its written consent to the Club before that person may act as an Officer of the club.'

The same section now reads:

'The Association shall use its best endeavours to confirm to the Club within 14 days of receipt of a completed Declaration whether or not that Applicant Officer is permitted to act as an Officer of that Club.'

The FA continue to refuse to disclosed the results of any test, or whether any particular individual has applied for the test, saying the details are confidential.

It is some six weeks since Andy Lonsdale told BBC Hereford & Worcester that he expected to hear the results of his ODT test 'any day now'. He told the Hereford Times in an interview given on Wednesday morning that he was still waiting on the result.
