Akinde's Spitting Incident At Slough

Sam Akinde At Poole Last Saturday
More information about the conduct of some Hereford United players at Slough on Tuesday evening has emerged in an interview with Slough's assistant manager Neil Baker.

In particular Baker talked about a spitting incident involving Hereford's Sam Akinde.

"I was disappointed with a number of their players from the moment they got here," said Baker.

"They showed a little bit of a big time attitude asking us if they had got complimentary tickets, there were lots of other things.

"That upset us a little bit.

"And there were a few incidents where a couple of their lads dived to the floor to try and make out that an incident had occured when it hadn't.

"There was also a spitting incident in the second half.

"Akinde could be a very good player but his attitude was absolutely atrocious.

"What he did to our player is one of the worst things you do in football, spitting at somebody.

"It's disgusting.

"If it was one of our players you would be looking at, potentially, releasing him from the club."

Even more poor behaviour from some Hereford players after the final whistle.

"I don't know exactly how it started.

"I know Knight (the Slough captain) was involved with their number nine (Akinde) and I think it was something along the lines of 'you're a disgrace', because what he did was disgraceful.

"To be fair, Jon Taylor said he would deal with that because it's not on.

"Knight said something and I understood there was a head-butt thrown and someone punched Ryan Parsons in the back of the head.

"Our lads were relatively controlled." .
