With the news that Hereford United creditors throw out the CVA proposals this afternoon, one of those at the meeting sounded a warning not to get too carried away with the news.
"We've won this battle but the war isn't over, yet," he said.
The general view was that today, whilst a sad day for the club, could be the start of a new chapter in the life of Hereford United. However another creditor felt that nothing should be taken for granted as it's still possible that chairman Andy Lonsdale and the directors of the club could spring another surprise on the creditors.
But there was a consensus amidst a group of creditors after the meeting that there was a lot of hard work to be done, particuarily with the Council, if a new club was to be formed from the ashes of Hereford United (1939) Limited ready for next season.
A meeting of one of the groups backing the possible set-up of a new club is planned for next Monday evening to 'review matters'.
