Hereford United's manager Jon Taylor spoke to the press after yesterday's game against St Neot's.
"I was disappointed, first half we had three or four really good chances and we should have put half of them away," said Taylor.
"I thought we had a lot of possession, I thought the boys worked very hard first half and I thought we looked the better side.
"But they were an experienced team, well drilled and well disciplined, played some good football and they did resort in the end to route one and they caught us out a couple of times.
"Realistically the penalty, the player should know that he should always hold a player up. You've got to learn from your mistakes.
"They are young lads who worked hard and I'm very happy with the first performance.
"If St Neot's are the favourites for the League, then we've not got too much to worry about."
St Neot's introduced Matthew Nolan during the second half.
"He's played at Luton. He's scored a lot of goals. He's a good target man. He probably takes two players out of the game most of the time."
Next for the Bulls is a home game against Slough on Tuesday.
"We've had Slough watched twice in pre-season so we know what to expect against them.
"We've got to go about our business in the right way and ensure we learn from today."
Asked if anyone stood out, Taylor gave several examples.
"I thought our number ten Samuel Akinde did very well.
"Ramirez in the first half.
"I don't think our keeper put a foot wrong.
"Left back Javier Roberts was probably our best player today. He was up and down that line like a gizelle. He's got energy to burn."
