For reference below are copies of the proposal from Ken Kinnersley to wind-up HUISA, which was agreed at last night's AGM, and also a letter from Nicki White, who tendered her resignation as treasurer of HUISA.
First the proposal:
Dear Chairman
After much deliberation I have come to the conclusion that there is almost no valid reason why HUISA should continue as a separate fund raising entity for the benefit of Hereford United Football Club.
Together with the Secretary, in recent years you have made repeated statements of intent to relinquish office and I understand you and the Secretary will be standing down this year even though it seems every rank and file member is reluctant to take on leadership roles.
The current HUISA membership have, in line with Trust members, decided broadly to boycott Edgar St.
In recent years HUISA’s principal achievements (in practical terms) have been to raise money for the club and organise away travel.
Personally, I have no wish to support the current regime at Edgar St., thus will not be renewing HUISA membership. I will, however, be supporting HUST in their efforts to regain control of the club for, and on behalf of, the true fans of the club.
Rather than divide such talent as we have within the ranks of supporters it now seems sensible to pool our resources under the umbrella of the Trust.
Therefore, I propose that the members meeting at the 2014 AGM consider disbanding HUISA and that any remaining assets and funds be passed to the Trust, if this is provided for under the current HUISA constitution.
If the situation at Edgar Street was to change in the future, I’m sure the Trust would embrace the expertise of HUISA members in organising away match travel so that this most valuable contribution could continue.
Yours
Ken
Second the resignation letter:
Dear Mr Chairman and Commmittee
It is with regret that I hereby tender my resignation both as Treasurer, and from the HUISA committee.
In my 38 years of supporting the Club, the last two and a half years have been the worst in that time. My utter disbelief at the way David Keyte and the last board of directors have let my beloved club end up in the situation that it is in now, is beyond belief.
I have, by and large, enjoyed my time on HUISA and have met some fantastic people but I feel I can no longer support what is, in name only, HUFC. I would like to thank all of the Chairmen and Committee I have worked with over the years and the members who have supported me.
Yours truly
Nicki White
