Keith Dodd stood down as chairman of HUISA at last night's AGM. Below are a few of his comments from the meeting.
Dodd said that as he was now 68, he felt it was the time to stand down. He admitted he had made some mistakes but he had enjoyed his time as Chairman.
In particular he was proud to have been involved, along with others, with the setting up of the Starlight Rooms.
Dodd spoke about the current situation at the club. No one had been appointed as safety officer but there was a meeting between the Council and the Club (today) and the club had seven pieces of paper with information ready for the Council.
He felt it was better to speak to those now in charge at the club 'face to face' than have a boycott.
Summing up at the end of the meeting Dodd said he felt it was a 'sad day'.
Meanwhile Dave White, who stood down as Secretary, admitted HUISA had come to the end of its life. It had been on a life-support machine for some time.
