The trialist side have been drawn in the only preliminary game in the Red Insure Cup.
They are scheduled to travel to Cinderford Town, who are managed by former Hereford United player John Brough, in late September in a bid to join the other 63 teams in the Southern League's cup competition in the First Round in October.
It has been suggested that the tie is the only preliminary tie with the Southern League concerned at the state of the club currently. The competition is considered to be a reserve fixture by most clubs with some opting not to enter.
Bideford manager Sean Joyce told the North Devon Journal: “We have pulled out of it. Most clubs only put out reserve sides so it’s generally only a training game. You look at the crowds last year. We played Yate at home and we had 70 people come through the gate."
Bideford averaged attendances of 242 to league games last term.
One interesting rule for this cup:
Ties to be played on a single leg basis.
If the scores are level at the end of 90 minutes, the tie will be decided by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark in accordance with the procedure adopted by the International Football Association Board.
