A very successful Darts Night was held at the Starlite Rooms last night.
Here's a report kindly sent to BN from Incontentabull.
A resounding success was the general consensus to the to the Darts held last night at the Starlite rooms.A packed room of some 180 odd players, family and friends enjoyed a evening of quality darts from the high calibre entry.
There was a strong turnout of local talent
competing with several well known faces from the world of darts such as
Andy "the Pieman" Smith , Welsh international Mark Layton, and local
hero Jimmy Williams to name but a few.
Myself , well I blitzed
through the first round courtesy of a bye ! A quick exit from the
competition followed in round two when I encountered a player with an
annoying propensity to outscore me on nearly every pitch.Oh well
hopefully this can become a annual event and I will get a "second
chance".
A evening of top quality darts ensued, culminating in
a win for Mark Layton in a great final,Edgar the bull was on hand to
help David Preedy present the prizes and draw the evening to a
successful conclusion.
A special mention must be said for
David Preedy, the staff and organiser's who working tirelessly throught
the evening, always with a smile on their faces, to ensure a good time
was had by all.Thank you .
