News Round-Up


Kidderminster are set to lose the services of defender Lee Vaughan with the 27 year old set to join Cheltenham. The Robins have offered the ex-Walsall trainee a two year deal. Welling have signed Millwall youngster Charlie Penny for the coming season. The teenage striker signed his first pro deal with the Lions last summer but failed to make his first team debut.

Both Bristol Rovers and Torquay are claimed to be chasing the signature of veteran striker Jamie Cureton. The 38 year old was released by Cheltenham after netting 11 times in 35 League appearances. Woking have signed striker Scott Rendell to a new deal for the coming season. The former Wycombe man scored 17 times for the Cards this term, initially on loan from Luton before signing a short term deal in January.

Altrincham have lost the services of three players following their promotion to the fifth tier. Forward James Walshaw has decided he cannot commit to the heavier schedule, while defender Matt Doughty has a knee problem that may not cope with the extra games. Midfielder Carl Rodgers is also leaving to take an opportunity in Australia after two years with the club. Alty have also announced Adult terrace admission of £14 for the coming season.

Former Bulls coach Richard Sneekes has been appointed as manager of Rushall Olympic. The 45 year old joins the Evo-Stik Premier club after spending the last season managing Romulus in the division below. Farnborough have been fined £5,000 by the FA for conducting it's own drugs tests on players in contravention of FA rules. The Conf South side sacked a player after test results, with a club statement claiming the player has failed a further FA sanctioned test.

Kidderminster have announced that Mark Creighton has agreed to stay on as Assistant Manager for the coming season. Coach Tim Flowers, brought to the club by boss Gary Whild in March, is leaving after being offered a job with a Football League side. Torquay boss Chris Hargreaves says that midfielder Joss Labadie is likely to leave the club this summer after being banned for 10 games for biting an opponent.
