Keyte Expects To Stay On Board After Investment

Hereford United chairman David Keyte expects that he and other board members will still have a role in the club should the proposed outside investment take place.

"Every day is progress and I think it's far to say some legal documents will be exchanged probably on Monday or Tuesday from the one party who did their due diligence this week," Keyte told BBC Hereford and Worcester yesterday.

"They are virtually there in my view.

"We have been quite open about the figures we needed to get through this season as it was described. We still owe people money and the deadline that is in front of us is the Conference AGM.

"We've also discussed the fact that things won't turn overnight and that they need to be putting another buffer in for the season ahead which is obviously their choice.

"But the huge opportunity for someone is the development at the ground and they will make money at that.

"We've had long discussions that Hereford is a little bit out on a limb, Hereford does tend to be a bit different in many ways and that it would probably be prudent to be thinking of keeping some local representation because they can't be there to do the job daily.

"That has been excepted so there will be some sort of structure with the current board still performing their roles."

Including you David?

"Yes, absolutely.

"The actual day to day needing to put your hand in your pocket will be off, much welcomed."
