Former Bulls defender Tony James will not be offered a playing contract by Newport for next season.
The 35 year old will be retained by the Exiles as Strength and Conditioning coach, a position he began last year, but ends his role as a player after two years with the club.
He last played a first team game in October, lasting just 25 minutes before injury. In total he has made over 500 senior appearances, half of them during an eight year stay at Edgar Street. He won promotion from the Conference three times, with the Bulls, Burton, and the Exiles.
Meanwhile, the supporters teams of Exeter and Yeovil will battle it out for the Adam Stansfield Trophy on Sunday. The game, in aid of the Adam Stansfield Foundation, will also feature former Bull Bertie Cozic, who will come out of retirement for the Exeter team.
The game will take place, at 12.30pm, at Elmore FC.
