Dave Preedy |
Hereford United director Dave Preedy gave his thoughts on the result at Aldershot to Bulls News.
"Third time lucky and we were due some luck," said Preedy.
"And the lads were just fantastic.
"Pete Beadle and Steve Jenks told me on the way up to just believe.
"I think the lads were lions today.
"And it worked out, fairytale, fairytale!
"This could be the catalyst for this club to go forward and get where it deserves to be.
"We have dodged a massive bullet.
"I was told if we go one step down we'll come back.
"Bollocks to that!
"We're still in the Conference Premier.
"This must be the catalyst to never be in this position again, to go onwards now.
"I never expected this in a thousand years, I knew the finances were bad but playing wise we were near the top of the table not long ago and now we're down here.
"I did say we would do it third time lucky and the Gods smiles and the lads played.
Aldershot's Craig Stanley, Once A Hereford Player, Talking To Caroline Preedy |
"Aldershot wanted it, I spoke to Craig Stanley afterwards, he wanted it, they're no mugs.
"Obviously the Chester/Salisbury game was a hell of a game.
"What a fanbase we have, that's what drives me.
"Nearly 800 go to a game at the bottom of the Conference."
The hard work to take the club forward will continue.
"This has got to help.
"But we're having two days off and regroup on Monday perhaps Tuesday.
"And then off we go again.
"The world is a brighter place tonight."
