Pete Beadle With Keith Hall For BBC H&W |
A few more words from Hereford United manager Pete Beadle just after the game finished at the Rec yesterday.
"I had faith in them from day one," Beadle told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"If they believed in what we were doing they wouldn't be far off.
"Obviously we would have liked to have done it way before the last day.
"But it wasn't to be but it made it for a much more exciting ending.
"The lads have been fantastic, I couldn't have asked no more.
"Won back to back games for the first time this year, left it to the end but it was worth it.
"We said no matter what happens we have to do the things that are right, the things we have worked on.
"Two goals and the centre forwards have got both the goals. I'm delighted for both of them because they've worked so unselfishly over recent games with little reward.
"Today they have both scored goals which have kept the club up.
"Unbelievable support, they've stuck with it, they've been extremely patient. You couldn't have asked no more.
"But I think we've given them something to cheer about recent weeks with how we've played the games.
"And this is the icing on the cake at the end of it.
"It's been a tough season for the players but for them to come out of it the way they have done, I'm as proud as I can be for any of them."
As for your future?
"My future is on Wednesday night when the youth team have a HFA giantkillers cup final which me and Steve will take.
"It will be fantastic to take as many people as possible to come to that on Wednesday.
"It will be the youth team's last game together.
"Another emotional day for us as staff. After that we'll wait and see."
