Macauley had spent most of the last eight years with the Conf North club, having also been a player with them, but was due to be out of work in the summer with their impending resignation from the league. Southport defender Matty Flynn is out for the foreseeable future after picking up a knee injury at the weekend.

Macclesfield have extended the loan of Mansfield defender George Pilkington to the end of the season. The former Luton man has played four games for the Silkmen in the past month, scoring twice. Halifax have extended the loan of forward Dominic Marie to Winsford United for a second month. The teenager is yet to play for the Shaymen after signing for them from Winsford last month.

Wrexham caretaker boss Billy Barr says the next two games will decide whether he gets the job on a full time basis. After being thumped by Luton in his first game, his side has kept two clean sheets in the two games since. Aldershot have signed defender Daniel Butler on loan from Portsmouth for an initial month. The 19 year old made five Conference appearances for the Shots earlier in the season before an injury ended his loan spell.

Kidderminster defender Chey Dunkley is to be out for a few weeks as he needs surgery on a minor knee problem that has caused him to miss a few games since the turn of the year. The Harriers have allowed striker Freddie Ladapo to join Conf South side Hayes & Yeading on loan for an initial month. The 20 year old former Colchester man signed a deal to the end of next season at the end of January, but has been left out of their last three matchday squads.
