Grimsby boss Paul Hurst says Bulls midfielder Frankie Artus is a better player this season.
The former Bristol City trainee spent two years with the Mariners before being released in the summer and joining the Bulls. Hurst told the Grimsby Telegraph that Artus was unlucky to be released in the summer:
"Frankie is a great lad and it was a tough decision to let him go. I’ve watched him recently and he’s transformed his game – he’s now a far more complete midfield player than he was when he first arrived.
"He puts his foot in now and wins a lot on the floor and in the air. He has got real quality at times and at the start of the season he was one of their better players.”
I’m sure Frankie will be looking to do well coming back to Blundell Park, which is understandable. It will be nice to see Frankie again, but hopefully he won’t be leaving in a happy mood tonight."
Artus made 23 league starts in his first season at Blundell Park, but only 14 in his second term.
Meanwhile, Hurst believes the Bulls won't be a pushover and will 'fight for their lives' in tonight's game:
"Hereford will show plenty of fight tonight. They’ve had a lot of troubles down there and I don’t know all the ins and outs of those, but I’ve seen bits of what’s going on down there.
"They got a good point down at Braintree on Saturday, which is never an easy place to go as we’re fully aware of and they’ll be fighting for their lives again tonight.
"Martin Foyle is an experienced manager and he won’t feel they’re safe yet – although there’s a bit of a cushion, he’ll want some more points to ensure their safe.
"We’re up against that and we know that we’ve got to play them in a couple of weeks’ time so it would be nice to claim the upper hand and put in a performance that will put a bit of doubt in their minds for when we go down there.
"We want to put on a performance tonight and be positive in front of our own fans."
