Grimsby boss Paul Hurst hopes to have winger Scott Neilson back in contention for the Bulls' trip to Blundell Park tonight.
Hurst told the local press that both ex-Luton man Neilson and defender Clayton McDonald had both resumed training, but only Neilson was in contention for the game:
"Scott trained and seemed as though he was alright, so that's a positive for us. I'll have a chat with him and see if there has been any reaction when I'm deciding whether he'll get the nod tonight.
"Clayton is back in training and he's not too far away, but Scott is definitely the closest and he has a chance tonight."
Loan striker Oumare Tounkara is also out of tonight's game, along with ex-Bull Joe Colbeck who is now a possible for the return fixture at the end of the month:
"Joe is looking better and there is cautious optimism that he might only be a couple of weeks away, but we'll have to see."
Hurst is expected to put new loan signing Andrew Boyce straight into the starting XI tonight with the ex-Lincoln man 'a big physical presence in both boxes'.
