Hereford United captain Luke Graham has suggested that some players 'need to be secured' for next season despite the financial pressures at the club
In a column in today's Hereford Times Graham says that on the pitch the most important thing is to ensure the club stays in the Conference Premier and hope that the finances are better next season.
"It's fair to say. there's not been a positive bit of news off the field, since I've been here," wrote Graham.
"I've been waiting for one, a glimmer of hope or statement of intent, it hasn't come.
"There have been a few times when the club has come close to going under, from what I've been told."
However Graham thinks the club will get through this season.
"The club can get on an even keel if they can get through to the summer, and I'm sure that will be the case.
"No big wages, no 12-month contracts and less than four months left to pay the players.
"Those young players have done very well in difficult circumstances,
similar to last season, which shows the work that goes into coaching
them by the staff.
"The likes of Danny Leadbitter, Dominic Collins, Daniel Lloyd Weston and
Rod McDonald have got good futures ahead of them. They need to be
secured as soon as possible."
