Hereford United's youth team coach, Peter Beadle, believes some of his squad could make the first team.
"Because it is such a small club and they have as much involvement with
the first-team as they do, they know the carrot is there for them that
if they keep performing well then they will get a chance," Beadle told the Hereford Times.
"I'm sure they will be ready - against Nuneaton, Cory Williams said he
was nervous before he went on but when he did get on he just got on with
his game.
"That is the education we are trying to give them, not to be fazed by too
many things - whatever comes along they have to take it on the chin,
get on with it and move forward.
"One or two are pretty close, and if it's a couple this year and a couple
next year then that's fine and that's was has always been the main aim
for us."
The youth game take on Manchester City in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup next Tuesday evening at Hyde FC. Should they win the tie then they will face either Spurs or Fulham at Edgar Street.
As of last night Hereford United director Dave Preedy told BN that there was still some space for supporters to travel to the game on the team coach.
Meanwhile several scouts are expected at Hyde to watch the game. With the youngsters having done well to reach the fourth round it's likely one or two might be formally approached.
It's already known that Bristol City are keeping an eye on a couple of players.
Former player Brian Tinnion was recently appointed to oversee their youth recruitment policy and has attended several of the ties involving Hereford United.
