Half time from Ewan Fields - Man City v Bulls

Hereford kicked off but soon lost the ball. A city cross field pass just behind
(right back) was picked up by Barker who crossed from left and it was bundled
over the line by Ambrose for a very early lead.

Hereford needed to settle and try and keep possession. But struggled to do that,
and another lofted ball this time towards the Hereford left back fortunately
rolled out of play.

A Hereford free kick was lofted in the box and after abasing everyone, and as a
Hereford player turned to retrieve it he was tripped and a pen was awarded.
Billy Murphy stepped up and the keeper tipped on his right hand side post.

Another lofted ball to the left was met by Intima who couldn't get his cross away and the ball was cleared eventually falling for Cory who's powerful shot was well held by the keeper. This all after just 8 mins. On thirteen minutes another cross from the Hereford right has missed everyone and lucky for Hereford Intima missed controlled and Max Contic filled in and cleared A lofted cross into the box was met by the head of Bryan who's header fortunately missed the upright and Hereford could breath again. Hereford were having their fair share of possession since the goal and a free kick on the right near the corner flag gave them a good chance but it was over hit and cleared comfortably. A free kick on the edge of the box was awarded when Cory was taken out when it looked like he would pull the trigger. The player was booked and it was probably just about a fair decision. Cory Williams took the free kick and forced a finger tip save from the keeper to give Hereford their ford corner. Hereford seemed to be getting a foothold on the game after that early blow and the long balls into the box were being dealt with by keeper and defence. A rare sight in football was a foul throw, from city. City's Barker forced a low near post shot from the keeper and the resulting corner was headed out of play by a city player. It was Hereford's turn to knock a long ball over the full back and Cory Williams stole the ball off the city full back who was trying to shield the ball but his shot was high and wide. Another cross field ball from city found it's way into the box but city again could only fire high and wide. As the half drew to a close City found another gear and forced a few corners but the Hereford defence and keeper, who had to stop a near post shot again, held firm and the ball was cleared once more. Just before the break a long clearance found Williams through on goal with only the keeper to beat. The linesman flag seemed to go up pretty late much to the annoyance of the 80 or so Hereford fans in the stand. The half time whistle blew after one minute of added time and Peter Beadle will be happy with the Young Bulls, apart from the first minute goal that was given away after Hereford took the centre and lost possession too easy. The Pen miss was one of those things. Other then this Hereford more then matched their Premier league counterparts and it was felt Hereford could still get something from the game.
