At the top, Luton netted four times in the opening 18 minutes in beating Alfreton 5-0, closing the gap to Cambridge to a single point with the U's holding two games in hand. Barnet beat Dartford 1-0 to move up to sixth despite having Edgar Davids sent off again. Braintree beat Chester 2-0 to go seventh.
At the bottom, Woking beat Halifax 4-3 to move to one place and two points behind the Bulls. Only Chester and Dartford do not have games in hand on the Bulls in the bottom half of the table.
In the FA Cup, Grimsby are into the Third Round after beating Northampton 2-0. Kidderminster are also through after beating Newport 4-2, while Macclesfield beat Brackley 3-2. Welling lost 3-1 at Plymouth.
