Bulls' groundsman Ian Pritchard says the game yesterday only went ahead thanks to the summer spending on drainage works.
While other clubs saw postponements due to heavy rain, Edgar Street had no such problem. He told Bulls News:
"This rain was no problem. If we had it last season, it would have been off. The new drainage took care of it. People say we shouldn't have spend the money on the pitch. If we hadn't, the game wouldn't have gone ahead. Simple as that.
"I've had the Cambridge coaching staff telling me when they came here last season the pitch was just mud. They can't believe how good it is. 'There's grass in the goalmouths' they said!"
"I'm proud of this pitch. They're telling me it's one of the best in the division every game."
