Hereford United chairman David Keyte has told BBC Midlands Today that the delay in signing a new lease with the council has put a mobile phone deal on hold.
The deal, which would mean more receivers on the flood lights at Edgar Street, could be worth £100K to the club but can't go ahead until a 30 year lease deal is completed.
Meanwhile Keyte spoke on camera about the finances at the club.
"We've made severe cuts in the last two years and the gates have gone down still further which has taken us back a step.
"So we've made further cuts.
"At what level do we get the clear message that Hereford, Herefordshire does not need a professional football club."
