Peter Beadle Talking To His Squad After Last Night's Game |
Hereford United youth team Peter Beadle has said that he thought last night's FA Youth Cup-tie was a 'fantastic game'.
"I'm sure anyone who was there will tell you that both teams put on a fantastic performance and everybody left throughly entertained," Beadle told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"For us as a youth team and the football club the win is massive.
"What they have achieved is exactly the same as if our first team had got to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
"We've played three qualifying rounds and now we've played three proper rounds and now we are into the fourth round proper.
"The boys have been fantastic and they've got a fantastic bonus to look forward to after Christmas.
"The keeper saved two - I have three fantastic keepers in our squad - but the young lad who played last night did extremely well.
Luke Moore Saved Two Penalties |
"He made two fantastic saves in the penalty shoot-out and also made some good saves in the game.
"The whole reason for our youth department is for us to hopefully close the gap between them and the first team and make the pathway and transition into the first team as smooth and small as possible.
"Every game we play is another step in our education for the boys to gain new experiences and this cup run will be invaluable for them.
"Four of our six games have been away from home, we've had some long trips.
"We've been to Chesterfield, Bournemouth and now we're going to Manchester. All this will stand them in good stead for when they move on into senior football.
"We've been fortunate this season that three have been on the (first team) bench. One came on in the game against Nuneaton and had ten minutes.
"We're trying to provide players for the manager to bring into his tea.
"The Fourth round has to be played before January 25th so we are probably looking at the last ten days in January."
