Local Rock Band King Mantis are helping to boost much needed funds by
re-recording Danny Lee's classic club anthem Hereford United (We All
Love You) which is still sung on the terraces both home and away.
The band said "As supporters we've been involved with fundraising by playing gigs, etc but wanted to do even more as the club are going through really dire times. The problem is real and is happening right now so we had to act fast. It was at these gigs such as the Hereford United Supporters Trust launch night that we were requested by the club to first play the song. It was both an honour and a bit nervy with members of Danny Lee's family in the crowd but we were pleased to see them singing along. Since then we've been inundated with texts, e-mails and requested to play it at pretty much every Hereford gig we play.
Reading about more and more cuts we recorded the song at Cobnash Studio and the club kindly liaised with Danny's family and we then thought fitting to launch at The Starlite Rooms Ska night on Friday 6th December.
Edgar Street definitely needs a bit of a lift so we hope the song helps in that way as well as financially (the band are not taking any cut from sales) and also can be downloaded worldwide so with people like the London Bulls, etc the potential is much more than the 1500 home crowd.
