Bulls Advent Calendar - No.7

Number seven on the Bulls Advent Calendar is Jimmy Harvey.

Harvey joined the Bulls at the age of 22 from Arsenal, having started at hometown club Glenavon in Northern Ireland. He spent seven years as a mainstay in the Bulls' midfield before moving to Bristol Rovers then Tranmere.

He ended his playing career with Morecambe in 1994, embarking on an 11 year spell as manager of the then part-time regional league side. His transformation of the club from the youth team upwards is widely accredited with their rise into the Football League, but he was unable to join them after a heart attack, and a cowardly move from former friend Sammy McIlroy, saw him unseated as their manager.

A three year spell with Forest Green brought their highest ever Conference placing, a feat that still stands despite Dale Vince's millions, before stints with Chester and Stalybridge.

Now 55, Harvey splits his time between golf and football and is currently seeking permanent employment.
