Former Bull Chris Hargreaves is the bookies' odds-on favourite to be the new Northampton manager.
Hargreaves is as low as 4/9 to take over at Sixfields, where he played over 150 times for the Cobblers in a four year spell. Now 41, Hargreaves is currently first team coach at Bournemouth after a spell with Exeter's youth department.
He was touted as a replacement for Alan Knill at Torquay, another of his former sides, last month having been seen at one of their home games. The Gulls board opted not to pull the trigger despite their lowly position.
Others in the Cobblers' frame are current caretaker boss Andy King and ex-Gillingham man Martin Allen, while Nuneaton boss Kevin Wilkin is a 28/1 shot.
