Number five on the Bulls Advent Calendar is Mel Pejic.
Pejic played for the Bulls across 12 League seasons after leaving Stoke following just one senior appearance in 1980. All of his time with the Bulls was in the basement section then known as Division Four, making him the club's record holder for Football League appearances.
He debuted as a 21 year old in August 1980, leaving at the age of 32 after a total of 536 League and Cup games, finishing his Bulls' career with a goal in a 2-2 draw with Barnet. He was named Player of the Year in three successive seasons - a feat never matched by any other Bulls player.
After leaving the Bulls midway through the 1991/2 season, he joined Wrexham where he played over 100 times before becoming their physio. Now 54, Pejic is currently physio at Macclesfield.
