Number 18 on the Bulls Advent Calendar is Tommy Best.
Trailblazer Best, born in Milford Haven, had a fruitful Football League career as a centre forward with the likes of QPR and Cardiff, and spells around World War II in both Belfast and Australia, before joining the Bulls. He holds the joint record for the fastest ever Bulls hat-trick, at four minutes against Cheltenham.
Best played for three seasons with the Bulls, netting hat-tricks in each one. He was top scorer in two of the three seasons, netting 33 times in 1950/51, before moving on to Bromsgrove Rovers for 18 months. After leaving the game, in his mid-thirties, he started working for Mothers Pride as a baker.
