Sunday 22nd December sees the return of XSLF (ex-Stiff Little Fingers) to the Starlite Rooms after a close to sell out triumphant maiden appearance in August. Henry Cluney and Jim Reilly, original members of legendary punk band Stiff Little Fingers immediately requested returning to Edgar Street asap, and we’ve managed to secure them for their last mainland gig of 2013 before they return to their native Belfast city.
Joining in the fun of XSLF at Xmas are 2 local bands, Walter and the Softees (featuring Pegasus manager Chris Hyde displaying his interpretation of rhythm guitar) and Ledbury/Glos based 36 Strategies. It promises to be a great end of year party for this season’s alternative gigs promoted by 2 devout fans of Hereford United.
In order to assist in funds, we have a specially commissioned art canvas by Marty Street of Stiff Little Fingers, taken from a shot when at their peak in the early 1980’s. There is only one copy of this and we are putting up for auction. The winning bidder of the canvas will be invited backstage on Sunday to meet the band, maybe have a drink and get their canvas personally signed.
100% of the monies will go directly to HUFC.
To make a bid please email modnite@hotmail.co.uk, minimum bid is £50 or can be secured on a buy it now basis for £250. In the event of a non-sale the auction will close at 6pm on Saturday night. Please include a contact number, and keep an eye on the Official Site for the current bid level.
XSLF at Xmas starts from 7:30pm on Sunday evening along with a punk disco. Admission is £10 in advance and £13 on the night.
Please support the club and come along for a bop.
