News Round-Up


Worcester qualified for the next round of the FA Cup after beating Rugby 2-0 in their replay last night. The homeless side will now face Lincoln in the Fourth Qualifying Round. Hednesford Town are also through to face West Auckland after beating Stamford on penalties last night, despite ending the game with only nine players, while Gloucester face Yate Town at Whaddon Road for their place tonight.

Northampton defender Paul Reid has told his team mates to stop believing their position in League Two is 'false' The Cobblers are 23rd in the table with Reid, a former Edgar Street trialist five years ago, saying that they are in the bottom two on results. Torquay boss Alan Knill says he 'needs more than honesty' from his players to pull them out of their current woes. The Gulls have lost five of their last six games, dropping to within a point of the drop zone.

John Coleman and former Newcastle player Nolberto Solano are amongst the applicants for the vacant Bury job. Assistant boss Ronnie Jepson has been put in temporary charge.
