HUISA, the Hereford United Independent Supporters Association, held their AGM in the VP Room at Edgar Street earlier today.
Chairman Keith Dodd took the meeting assisited by Dave Weaver vice-chairman, Dave White secretary and Nikki White treasurer. There were about 20 members present, the highest number for some years.
During the meeting mention was made of the continuing success of the match day 50/50 draw which provides HUISA with much needed revenue. It was decided to offer a second prize when proceeds rose above £600.
The accounts were in credit and £8940 had been donated to the club last season.
The away travel broke even last season although a couple of coaches didn't run because of low interest. The forthcoming away game at Gateshead will cost £32 and will need at least 25 to book to make it viable.
In the Chairman's report mention was made of how difficult last season had been, but currently players and staff are being paid on time and the Starlite Rooms were making a real contribution to the keeping club running.
There were plans to re-locate the gym.
HUISA would work with the new supporters trust (HUST) to help the club move forward.
All the officers were re-elected however Dave White revealed he would be stepping down as secretary. (more on this to follow in a future article)
During any other business there was a discussion about whether HUISA should drop the I (independent). It was agreed this should not happen as members wished to keep the supporters association at arms length from the club.
Another discussion took place over HUISA's decision to back the proposed share issue. The chairman said whilst they had decided to back the resolutions proposed by the board they had only done so after receiving assurances from the board that the proposals would be changed.
