The Football League has chosen to accept Coventry's liquidation with a reduced points penalty.
Despite having a range of sanctions at it's disposal, and with a 15 point penalty the norm, Coventry have been handed just a 10 point deduction and transferred it's "Golden Share" to new owners Otium Entertainment, a company linked to former owners SISU.
The League have also thrown out stadium owners ACL's move to refer the FL's decision to allow a groundshare in Northampton to it's own Disciplinary Committee. ACL are expected to continue with their claim against Northampton Town.
More than 15,000 fans have signed a petition with the local paper to keep the club in Coventry, while they are reported to have sold only 210 season tickets for the coming season at Northampton having attracted gates of up to 15,000 last season.
