Chester Could Face FA Sanctions

Chester City could face sanctions after smoke bombs exploded at their first two Conference games, on Saturday at Barnet and yesterday at home against Hereford.

"As a supporter-owned football club, Chester FC are rightly proud of the behaviour of the overwhelming majority of our supporters," according to the Chester board.

"The behaviour of a small number of individuals in the games at Barnet and again against Hereford seriously threatens to undermine all that we stand for as a community-based family club.

"The board of Chester FC absolutely condemn the use of smoke bombs or flares, throwing coins, any form of hate chanting, racial abuse and any other form of public order offences."

It's understood last night's match referee could report the incident to the FA.
