News Round-Up

Alfreton have signed released Cambridge defender Michael Wylde for the coming season. The 26 year old ended last season on loan at Tamworth, and also had a loan spell at Telford. The Southern League has named Calor Gas as their new sponsors. They take over from Evo-Stik after they asked to quit their deal a year early.

Kidderminster's Supporters Trust is to bring up the subject of Jon Harris' appointment at the club at the next club board meeting on Thursday. Fans have expressed concern at the history of the former Shrewsbury, Wrexham, and Macclesfield man. Stockport have made two further off-field staff members redundant in a bid to halt ongoing losses at the club. A statement says that just six full time staff remain on the admin side of the business.

The FA of Wales has received heavy criticism after two reformed clubs were barred from re-entering the Welsh pyramid system. AFC Llanelli and Barry Town United were formed after their respective clubs folded, but the pair will now have to enter county leagues after a 13-2 vote against their acceptance. Llanelli, who qualified for Europe two years ago but folded under massive debts, are unlikely to take that route while Barry, whose owner pulled the plug despite the supporters successfully running the club, are considering their options.

Macclesfield have extended their discount period for season tickets for another week in a bid to boost sales. Director Andy Scott says the club have sold 25 of their 200 target since their Fans Forum last Thursday. Former Bulls striker Nathan Elder has signed for Dover after leaving Ebbsfleet. The former Brentford man netted 16 times last term, mostly in the first half of the season.

Wrexham boss Andy Morrell says budget constraints mean he will test youth players Steve Tomassen, Leon Clowes, and Kyle Parle in pre-season before deciding whether to sign a defender to replace Martin Riley. The trio had loan spells in the Welsh Premier last season but only Clowes made any appearances for the Dragons, while a move to resign released veteran Chris Westwood is unlikely.

Cambridge have released goalkeeper coach Lance Key for financial reasons. Director of Football Jez George says they will likely sign a loan keeper from a Football League side who will be coached by his parent club, while the club's youth keepers will be handled by the Community Trust's under 16 coach. George also revealed that only boss Richard Money and physio Greg Reid were being paid directly by the club, with the rest of the backroom staff being paid by the Trust.

Barnet have named Dick Shreuder as their 'Head of Coaching'. The 41 year old is the third Dutch coach at the club and will work alongside head coach Edgar Davids, and previously played briefly for Stoke in 1997. Southport have released defender Chris Lever by mutual consent. The 26 year old is unable to commit to the training regime new boss Alan Wright wants to implement.

Lincoln have scrapped early bird prices on their matchday admission. Terrace tickets will cost £16, with Stand £18, as they did without the early discount last term. Barnet striker Jake Hyde, who handed in a transfer request at the club, is reported to be a target of York. The 22 year old scored 14 times last term.
