Former Hereford United winger Freddie Jones in reported to have died at the age of 75.
Freddie spent the early part of his career at Edgar Street before a big-money move to Arsenal. Later moves took him to Brighton, Swindon, Grimsby and Reading before resigning for The Bulls during the Bob Dennison era that saw the beginning of a run that was to end with admission to The Football League.
His return in season 64/65 was a busy one for Dennison bringing in former Middlesborough players Alan Rogerson and Ronnie Burbeck along with future Rangers boss Jock Wallace but it was the return of Jones that fired the fans enthusiasm and saw crowds soar to over 5000.
Those of us who were around at the time enjoyed his darting runs and accurate crosses. #CHILDHOODHERO
