News Round-Up


Conf South promotion challengers Chelmsford have denied claims from one of their players that he hasn't been paid for nine weeks. Winger Anthony Cook made the claim on Twitter, but it has been denied by club chairman Mansell Wallace. Luton have opted to delay Stuart Fleetwood's hernia operation to the end of the season, but put Danny Spiller, Garry Richards, and Scott Neilson under the knife as their problems were worse.

Dartford have signed Bournemouth striker Charlie Sheringham on loan for the remainder of the season. The 24 year old netted 30 goals for the Darts in 46 games before signing for the Cherries. Southport have signed former Shrewsbury keeper Ben Smith on non-contract terms. The 26 year old comes in as cover after first choice, and ever-present, Tony McMillan was sent off on Tuesday night.

Coventry's owner SISU has told senior staff at the club that it has a plan to stop the club being forced into Administration at tomorrow's court hearing brought by landlords ACL. Details of their plan are not known, but the local press speculates that SISU may challenge the legality of the club's lease agreement on the Ricoh Arena. Plymouth have launched a consultation with fans over a proposed new stand at Home Park. The stand will increase capacity at the ground and give it further hospitality capacity.

Telford winger Richard Davies needs surgery to clean up bone fragments from an ankle problem that has kept him out since December. Manager John Psaras will decide shortly whether to get the 22 year old to play on for this season or to get the problem sorted.
