Coventry Leave Their Ground

Coventry have left the Ricoh Arena, saying they will seek discussions with the Football League about where they will play their final three home games.

Images circulated on Twitter on Friday night of removal vans at the ground removing stock from the club shop and office equipment, with a statement later confirming that the club had relocated to it's training ground.

It is being widely rumoured that the club will seek to play at Walsall's stadium with their dispute with ACL continuing. The two parties face each other in court on Tuesday, with the Football League likely to look poorly on the club's actions.

There is no precedent on a club making itself intentionally homeless midway through the season. League rules demand that any move is sanctioned by the League beforehand, and also state that the preference is for a club to remain in the conurbation that it is named after.

Meanwhile, the for sale signs have gone up at Crawley. A statement released yesterday says the current owners are not conducting a 'fire sale' but do not have the funds to continue propping up the club.
