News Round-Up


Kidderminster have released winger Sean Clancy from his non-contract deal. The former Chester man made only three appearances as a sub for the Harriers totalling 10 minutes, and getting sent off in his final game. New Telford boss Mark Cooper wants to sign Grimsby striker Greg Pearson and free agent midfielder Ian Craney. A loan deal for Pearson could be completed for the weekend, when the window reopens, while Craney, who left Rochdale last month, can sign at any time.

Tonight's England 'C' international against Turkey is 'sold-out' after hosts Dartford gave away all the tickets. The Bulls' Ryan Bowman is not in the final squad after being on standby, with Cambridge's Rossi Jarvis the only member of the standby squad to be called up due to injury. Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio says he may only have 13 players fit for their game with Colchester tonight. The Italian is considering his future with the club's takeover delayed awaiting League approval.

Bristol City have announced alternative plans to redevelop Ashton Gate if a proposed move to a new 30,000 capacity stadium at Ashton Vale fails to win approval. The secondary plan will see two stands redeveloped and the other two modernised at a cost of £40million, with the 26,000 capacity ground being shared by Bristol Rugby who are also owned by Steve Lansdown. 

Altrincham striker Damian Reeves is reported to have turned down a move to SPL side Inverness last week. The Conf North player is reported to have been offered only a small pay rise for the move after hitting 24 goals so far this term. Alfreton's Supporters Club is the latest to suffer from thieves after fruit machines in the clubhouse were raided over the weekend. A previous break-in in November nearly put the group out of business.

Stockport have returned loanee Jake Fowler to Middlesboro after just five days by mutual consent. The youngster failed to feature in their matchday 16 at the weekend. Woking have extended the loan of Bournemouth teenager Jayden Stockley for the remainder of the season. The striker has scored twice in seven games since arriving in November.

Newport have released forward Ryan Charles by mutual consent. The former Cambridge man was transfer listed in November, making only one start and three sub appearances since. Former Bulls loanee Lee Collins is on trial with Northampton following his release from Barnsley.
