Swindon's takeover has been approved after the incoming consortium received Football League approval for the move. The FL wanted a three year financial plan showing the club was not to overspend, something they had done massively in recent seasons. Press reports claim that Paolo Di Canio was on £850,000 a year at the club, a sum that would double if they won promotion - meaning that the Italian would have received £8 for every paying spectator at the County Ground for each of their League games.
Portsmouth's survival talks are likely to go right to the end of season deadline after Administrators PKF asked the court for a hearing no later than April 19th at their court date yesterday. If successful in forcing the sale of Fratton Park, the Administrator would have to allow 28 days for the Supporters Trust's proposed CVA to be accepted leaving them right at the end of the League season with the FL demanding resolution by then.
