News Round-Up

Luton boss Paul Buckle has told the press he wants funds from their cup run to bolster his faltering play-off bid. The Hatters are reported to have generated £500,000 from their run, with them now nine points short of fifth place with a trio of games in hand. Telford signed striker Nialle Rodney ahead of their draw with Tamworth on Saturday. The 21 year old has been a free agent since being released by Lincoln last summer.

Halifax will play their next home game at Rochdale's Spotland ground due to the ongoing pitch problems at their Shay home. The Conf North promotion challengers have played only 20 games this season, nine less than leaders Chester, due to flooding. Coventry landlords ACL have made a third party debt order against the club, effectively claiming money owed to the club as their own in a bid to recover their £1.4million in back rent.

Hyde have released midfielder Stefan Cox by mutual consent. The 21 year old former Fleetwood man made only three starts for the Ewen Fields outfit since arriving in the summer. Former Bulls loanee Matthew Lund signed for Southend on loan from Stoke prior to the weekend. The 22 year old, who is free to leave the Potters in the summer, made his Shrimpers debut at the weekend netting their goal in a 2-1 loss to Northampton.

Chesterfield Council have no intention of writing off a £1million loan to the Spireites despite requests from club chairman Dave Allen. Allen says he will not put another penny into the club until the debt is cleared, claiming that the original investment in 2001 was intended as a gift.
