Gateshead Switch Trophy Tie To Barrow

Gateshead have surrendered home advantage in the FA Trophy tie on Tuesday in a bid to get the game played.

The Heed haven't played in two weeks due to their pitch issues, and will now face Barrow at their Holker Street stadium after moves to switch the game to various other North East stadia fell through.

They contacted both Newcastle and Sunderland over moves, and a string of non-league sides who had their own pitch issues. A switch to Durham City's 3G surface was ruled out due to FA rules requiring 10 days notice for the match to be played on such a surface.

Should the game go to replay, that will also take place at Holker Street with Barrow then officially the home side. That would take place on the 26th January, the day the Bulls are due to visit.

Meanwhile, the Heed have allowed striker Yemi Odubade to join Forest Green for the remainder of the season. The 28 year old has netted four goals this season.
