Winding Up Order For Bulls

Hereford United are one of a number of businesses in the High Court on Monday.

The club is subject to a winding up order.

Chairman David Keyte had said sometime ago that he expected action from HMRC and it appears that this will come to bear on Monday.

However with the money from last Monday's FA Cup game against Cheltenham and a share of the gate receipts still due to the club it's expected that the 'order' is no more than a formality.

Hereford's transfer embargo was lifted on Wednesday November 22nd, the same day as chairman Keyte said the club had reached an agreement with HMRC to pay off the VAT and PAYE owed to them.

UPDATE 7pm: Keyte has given a short statement to the OS.

"In our case we have negotiated final payment of the £33,000 outstanding PAYE before December 31st 2012 as we needed part of the £68K TV money from the FA Cup game at Cheltenham which is expected to be paid around Christmas Day.

"There will be another Court date in the week commencing January 14th to cover any non-payment by the club.

"No representative from the club is required to attend the Court hearing."

Also on the list are Southend Football Club.Their directors released a statement last night which appears to show that they have already settled their problem.

We are aware that the Club has been listed on the court listings for Monday, 10th December, in respect of a winding up petition but HMRC have already confirmed in writing to the Club that the petition will be dismissed as the debt has been paid.

HMRC give no room for Clubs to delay payment, on this occasion payment was due on the 22nd October and HMRC issued a petition dated the 26th with payment passing the date of service.

Nobody from the Club will be attending court on Monday as this is merely a formality.
